There will be a little change in using your debit card for shopping purpose from 01st Dec.RBI have asked banks to add more security feature for shopping using debit card.with effective from 01-12-2013 it will be mandatory to enter ATM PIN to confirm the transaction.
Now it will mandatory to enter PIN in addition to your signature whenever you swipe or dip your debit card for any purchase at merchant outlet.
So entering PIN will be mandatory and this option will be pop out as similar to ATM after you swipe or dip your card.
so if you are going to purchase using debit card ,you need to take some special precautions like avoid pronouncing PIN while entering or don’t let any other at merchant shop to enter PIN on your behalf..
